Earth Day (Hug the world)
Illustration I created for Earth Day. While sketching out this idea, I remembered this quote from The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss, “I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.” Respect, Restore, Replenish.

Slumbering Moon
Seeing the full moon a few weeks ago encourage me to create this illustration. It goes through its moon phases, month after month without commotion and feels quite and calm amid the busy life below.

Female Potter
An idea for a client that never made the cut – but decided to illustrate it anyhow.

Like most illustrators or designers, I love to research different methods and styles of simplification through the work of other great creatives. Last year, I came across Gerd Arntz, a German Modernist artist renowned for his black and white woodcuts and simplified pictograms. Not only do I love his icon work, but I love how his illustrations depict the era of which they where illustrated, especially icons of people at work. Read more about Gerd Arntz.

Mathematics Workbooks For Kids
As a kid, I loathed math and wonder if it was because of how it was presented to me... maybe, maybe not. To this day I think math workbooks have been cursed, the covers are terrible and unapproachable for kids who use them. So, I thought I'd try to create a cover series – I took an existing math book from my son, striped it down to it's bare essentials and re branded it. The end result where these friendly oversized workbooks with bold graphics and color.

A Conversation with The Image Group
I was invited to talk to the The Image Group in Holland about my work, how I like to work with clients and had a chance to educate them on the complexities of pricing and licensing illustrations. As a parting gift they gave me these 4 "Good Thinking" pocket notebooks – great for sketching ideas on the run.

Merchandise Mart Illustration

Worked alongside The Integer Group and Pella for licensing my illustration of the Merchandise Mart. The illustration was used forinvites for the grand opening of their new store, Pella Crafted Luxury in Chicago, Illinois. Great use of spot UV coating and embossing on this swanky, all black gala invite.
