Dowel Plant Stand
During my downtime, not only do I like to illustrate, but I like to design and build small woodworking projects, like this Dowel Plant Stand. Made from Poplar and constructed only using wood and glue.

Mikey Mouse Apple Watch – Illustration
This is an illustration rendering of an Apple Watch, not to be confused with a 3D rendering. A trick with illustrating realistic objects is understanding how light, shadow, and reflections behave on objects.

Kindly
The aim of this type design exercise was to capture the essence of the name, kindly. I’m not a type designer and crafting this lowercase typeface was challenging. Nonetheless, I'm always eager to tackle new challenges.

Day of the Dead
In celebration of the Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos). Though I'm not of Mexican descent, I deeply appreciate their tradition of celebrating and honoring departed loved ones. I’ve utilized the typeface Taurunum Ferrum designed by Nikola Kostić and Zoran Kostić from Kostic Type Foundry.

Wildlife Conservation Illustrations
In August, I participated in the Souldoodles illustration challenge focused on wildlife conservation, where I illustrated three endangered animals. Information about each animal can be found under the accordion dropdown to the right.

African Bush Elephant
African Savanna Elephants are the largest species of elephant and the biggest terrestrial animal on Earth. They are easily distinguished by their very large ears and front legs which are noticeably longer than the hind legs. Each family unit usually consists of around 10 females and their calves, and the bulls associate with these herds only during mating. Several family units often join together to form a “clan” consisting of up to several hundred members led by a female matriarch.

White Rhino
White rhinos are the second largest land mammal and their name comes from the Afrikaan’s, As of March 2018, there are only two rhinos of the northern white rhino left, both of which are female. They live in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya and are protected round-the-clock by armed guards. Their near extinction is due to decades of rampant poaching for rhino horn. White rhinos have complex social structures. Groups of sometimes 14 rhinos may form, notably females with calves.

Green Sea Turtle
The green turtle is one of the largest sea turtles and the only herbivore among the different species. Green turtles are found mainly in tropical and subtropical waters. Like other sea turtles, they migrate long distances between feeding grounds and the beaches from where they hatched. Classified as endangered, green turtles are threatened by over harvesting of their eggs, hunting of adults, being caught in fishing gear, and loss of nesting beach sites.
