Graphis Unmuted – Designers for Humanity
I entered this poster I designed into the Graphis, Unmuted. This poster interrogates political power by exposing the tension between spectacle and control. Drawing from historic propaganda, monarchical symbolism, and contemporary political theater, the work pairs oversized typography with a crowned skull to reveal how authority often conceals fragility and mortality beneath displays of dominance.

The “No Kings” concept responds to modern shifts toward unchecked power, linking the historic “divine right” of monarchies with today’s nationalist influences. Visually, an American star merges with a traditional crown containing a skull, reinforcing themes of fear, decay, and the performative nature of strength. Executed in a stark red, black, and white palette with compressed vertical stacking, the composition creates psychological pressure that mirrors the overwhelming weight of political messaging and challenges viewers to question the cost of blind allegiance.

Wishing you all a Feliz Navidad, Happy Holidays, Joyeux Noël, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Season’s Greetings.

The lettering is an adaptation by me of Albrecht Dürer’s geometric alphabet, originally published in 1525, titled, Underweysung der Messung mit dem Zirckel und Richtscheyt (Instruction on Measurement with Compass and Ruler).

Holmes Sardines
This internal project reflects my appreciation for vintage packaging and its rich history. I’m inspired by the hand craftsmanship of early packaging design, which beautifully captures the essence of its era. Through recreation, my aim is to preserve and honor its historical significance.

Sardine fisheries and their canning factories were prominent along the U.S. East and West Coasts from the 1870s until their decline in the mid-20th century, serving as vital industries for coastal communities. These operations not only supported local economies but also played a significant role in shaping the cultural and industrial landscape of the time. The Stinson Sardine Cannery in Prospect Harbor, Maine, was the last operating sardine cannery in the United States, closing its doors in April 2010, marking the end of an era for a once-thriving industry.

Tulip Festival

Tulip Festival
I submitted these minimalist tulip illustrations to the Tulip Time poster competition, but they didn’t place. So, I repurposed them into mockups for the Tulip Festival at Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse, Netherlands.

Artwork Statement: Inspired by the tulip’s form, this series of minimalistic illustrations captures its beauty through three life stages: Emerge, Unveil, and Reveal. Each phase captures the tulip’s transformation using the simplicity of negative space to frame its contours. The reduction of detail allows the viewer to focus on the essence of the tulip’s appearance, revealing how it unfolds over time. Through this work, I seek to emphasize the tulip’s beauty and timeless form. The three posters can be evaluated as a series or individually considered.

The copy establishes a personal connection with the reader, emphasizing Amazon's dedication to timely and reliable service, even if it’s after hours.

Crayola Crayons Poster

Crayola Crayons Poster
During my childhood, one of the highlights preparing for the first day of school was going school shopping and selecting a brand new box of crayons. I recall carefully unwrapping the box, ensuring not to tear the packaging and being greeted by its unique waxy scent. These illustrated posters are a tribute to this moment and to all who remember the scent and the joy of creating coloring masterpieces. The left poster is a 24 pack of Crayola Crayons with a Walmart price tag and the right poster is the unboxed pack of Crayola Crayons.

  • Unfortunately, I was unable to obtain a license from Crayola to sell these vibrant illustrative posters.
